Your Pet’s Health, Our Priority

Spay and Neuter Services for Cats and Dogs

It often starts with a simple thought, what is the best way to give my pet a healthy, happy life? For many owners, that question leads to one of the most important decisions they will make. Choosing to spay or neuter your pet is not just about preventing unwanted litters. It is about giving them the best chance at a longer, healthier life.

At Village Vets, we approach every spay and neuter with the same care we would give to our own pets. From the moment you arrive, our team is here to guide you through the process, answer your questions, and make sure you and your pet feel comfortable and supported.

From the first friendly hello to the last gentle pat before you leave, our goal is to make every appointment calm and stress-free for both you and your pet. We take the time to explain everything clearly so that you never leave with unanswered questions.

Why Spaying or Neutering Matters?

These procedures are recommended for many reasons beyond population control. They can reduce the risk of certain cancers, prevent life-threatening infections, and even help with unwanted behaviours such as roaming or spraying. Spaying female pets before their first season greatly reduces their risk of mammary cancer, while neutering males can help prevent prostate issues and testicular cancer.

3. Worried about your pet and unsure if you need to travel to an emergency clinic or can wait to see your usual vet:
Chat with us on PetsApp during the day or use our video vet triage service out of hours (VIP included benefit).

At Village Vets all these issues are resolved, giving YOUR PET—the comprehensive care they deserve, and YOU—peace of mind.

What to Expect on the Day

On the day of the procedure, we begin with a full health check to make sure your pet is fit and healthy for surgery. Your pet will be carefully monitored throughout by our skilled veterinary team using advanced anaesthesia and monitoring equipment. After surgery, they will be kept warm, comfortable, and supervised until they are ready to go home.

We will provide you with clear aftercare instructions and are always just a phone call away if you have any questions during their recovery. Most pets bounce back quickly, and within a few days, they are back to enjoying their favourite activities.

At Village Vets, we’re proud to be a multi-award-winning veterinary practice, recognised for our exceptional care, compassionate service, and commitment to your pets’ well-being.

Where Preventive Care Comes In

While spay and neuter surgeries play a key role in a pet’s health, they are just one part of the bigger picture. Preventive care like vaccinations is just as important.

At Village Vets, we vaccinate dogs against conditions such as canine distemper, parvovirus, leptospirosis, and hepatitis, along with kennel cough for dogs who mix with others. Cats are protected against feline herpesvirus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia, with optional protection for feline leukaemia virus depending on their lifestyle.
